Evans-Marcu Wedding Details!

posted May 6, 2011, 10:19 AM by Amber Marcu

Dear Evans-Marcu Wedding Guest:

Thank you for letting us know that you (+ guest(s), if applicable) will be attending our wedding in less than 5 days on Saturday, May 7, 2011!

We wanted to share a few details with you regarding the wedding so you'll be prepared to have an outdoor evening of fun!

For ALL of the below information, updated announcements, + more, please refer to our web site at http://wedding.marcu.se/

Table of Contents:

  1. Attire / Dress Code
  2. Shuttle Service
  3. Dinner Menu

1. Attire / Dress Code

Although Florin and I and our bridal party will be wearing formalwear, as our guest you may dress as formal or casual as you like.  Our greatest concern is for you to be comfortable.  This is an outdoor wedding.  Pathways are mostly gravel, brick, or bark and you will be required to walk ~100 yards from the drop-off point through the gorgeous Gustafson Gardens to the ceremony and reception area.  We highly recommend wearing flats or comfortable shoes and bringing a jacket for the cooler evening weather. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid 70s (20-25C) during the ceremony and drop into the mid 50s (10-15C) into the late evening.

2. Shuttle Service

See http://wedding.marcu.se/wedding/shuttle-transport for the most up-to-date information.

IMPORTANT: Parking at the ceremony/reception will NOT be available for guests.  A charter coach service has been arranged for all guests between Chico and the Gustafson Family Gardens.  Service will run between the stops and destination throughout the night.  Pick-up for the wedding ceremony will be ~4:00pm and final departure from the reception will be ~Midnight.

If you are local or driving your own vehicle, please park at Shasta Elementary School in the Esplanade Ave. parking lot; however, please do not drink and drive!  If you drank too much by the end of the evening, our driver would be happy to drop you off at another location of your choosing.

Shuttle Stops and estimated pick-up times:

  1. Super 8 Motel @ ~4:00pm (for Wedding); ~5:15pm (for Reception only)
  2. Holiday Inn @ ~4:00pm (for Wedding); ~5:15pm (for Reception only)
  3. Shasta Elementary School (Esplanade Ave. parking lot) @ ~4:15pm (for Wedding); ~5:30pm (for Reception only)

3. Drinks, Dinner, & Dessert Menu

At our wedding we are hosting an open bar with a Mixologist on-site.  Please enjoy the libations and make ample use of our shuttle service to make it safely home!  Broadway Heights is catering our wedding dinner and Upper Crust Bakery crafted our wedding cake.  Dinner consists of: Vegetarian cheese ravioli, Tri-tip, Wild rice pilaf, Buttered new potatoes, Caesar salad, and Focaccia bread in a buffet-style format.  The tiered cake consists of three different layers of flavor: White cake and Gran Marnier, Chocolate cake and Amaretto, and White cake and Raspberry.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at (309) 863-5609 or at rsvp@marcu.se

With Love,

Amber D. Evans & Florin M. Marcu

Guests Travel via Free Shuttle Transport

posted Feb 1, 2011, 2:58 PM by Amber Marcu   [ updated Feb 2, 2011, 1:18 PM ]

Important!  Parking at the ceremony/reception will NOT be available for guests.

There are two reasons:

  1. There is very limited space at the Gustafson Family Gardens, and
  2. We desire all of our guests to safely enjoy libations during this time of festivity.
In support of this, we have contracted Van-Man Charters to provide ALL of our guests with free shuttle transport between Chico and the Gustafson Family Gardens (the location of the ceremony and reception).

Remember: Parking at the ceremony/reception will NOT be available for guests.
